We are just coming to the end of this amazing new build 5-bed
7,300+sq ft house near Reigate. The project has been a great example of the benefits of using one company to take on the different elements of electrical, AV and Solar
As well as undertaking the full house and annexe electrics we installed Rako to control the lighting in the key rooms around the house, working with the customer supplied Buster & Punch light switches and also to control the SilentGliss curtains and blinds.
Our favourite demonstration of the benefits of home automation had to be the master bedroom. This room has it all, Rako controlled lighting (controlled using Buster & Punch toggle switches or the Control4 remote or a Rako wireless keypad), Rako controlled Silentgliss motorised curtains and a TV lift from FutureAutomation.
This was the perfect illustration of the benefits of home automation control. Without even getting out of bed the customer can use the Control4 to close the curtains, turn off the lights, activate the TV lift to drop the screen out of the ceiling and then access the Sky Q, Sky Mini, Apple TV or a Amazon Firestick..
To help power the house we installed a 10.7kWp solar PV system using Q-Cells panels on ballasted bins on the swimming pool roof, which fed into a 3-phase Solis inverter. We also installed a Tesla Powerwall 2 which was set up to store any excess power generated by the solar panels so that it could be released at night, reducing the running costs of the house.
By using just one company to undertake the entire package the client has had the benefit of one lead electrician to project manage every element, which has meant lower costs compared to outsourcing each element to a different company, one point of contact and no crossed wires. This has meant a project that has run very smoothly from start to finish and is one that we are proud to have worked on.
